Event organisers across the UK partnered with Tixel to protect their fans from touts and scammers while unlocking new revenue, data, insights, and more. Here's a recap of our year, the latest trends on our platform, partners, and more.
It's hard to believe we’re already deep into planning for the 2025 UK summer, but it was a once-again surprising and challenging, yet strong year for Tixel and our roster of partners in 2024 — and we wanted to publicly thank the many fans, artists and event organisers that trusted us with their tickets this year!
Festivals continued to ride the wave and we lost some greats, but we also saw some bright sparks and a general positivity from festival punters that has us pumped for this summer. Tours performed strongly. Our growth in ticket sales was significant, along with the revenue we helped unlock for our partners, demonstrating trust that we have worked hard to earn. It’s clear that fans not only want, but expect flexibility when it comes to their purchases - event tickets included.
We (our team AND our tech) worked hard to protect fans and reduce no-shows, while unearthing new revenue streams, data, and insights for our partners. Even better, we see fans buying more tickets, earlier, when they know resale is available and easy.
We're grateful for a strong 2024, look forward to working with you in 2025, and without further adieu, here's the numbers!
Here are just a few of our new partners
"This collaboration marks our first steps towards offering safe ticket resale for fans who can’t attend and ensuring that live music enthusiasts are not exploited by touts."
"Pleasure to be working with, in my opinion, the premier resale operator, great start to the relationship already and looking forward to brighter things to come."
“We want to ensure that everyone who attends a show on our final tour is an actual fan and that everyone has paid a fair price, and Tixel allows us to do that.”
The desire for flexibility and spontaneity remained strong last year with people listing tickets as their plans changed, and others buying closer to the event date or snapping up a coveted sold out ticket via a Tixel waitlist. Several partners experienced dramatic increases in check-in rates at events when partnering with Tixel.
Our proprietary tools enabled our partners to secure a meaningful amount of additional revenue from extra and unused tickets in the event of release holds, payment plan defaults, capacity increases and more. Partners could instantly fulfill these tickets to fans on their waitlist who had set up auto-purchase.
Tixel's waitlist gives fans the opportunity to auto-purchase the next available tickets at their desired price. Fans did this to the tune of over half a million £ last year — showing that there's a lot of cash sitting on the table for high-demand events, in particular.
As fans in the UK become more aware of Tixel, we are helping centralise resale in a safe and fair environment and empowering our partners to capture more fan data to understand who attends their events.
We shipped dozens of new features and improvements throughout the year in response to the market, the challenges faced by our partners, how fans were using us and general consumer behaviour — here are a few of the ones that drove the most impact.
Dynamic Seat Maps: Fans can see, filter, and select tickets by where they want to sit for the show.
Instant Sales: Sellers can instantly sell tickets to fans that have pre-authorised a purchase.
Waitlist Cashout: Instantly fulfill unused tickets to fans on the waitlist who have set up auto-purchase.
Expanded transaction data: We expanded the resale transaction data available for viewing and exporting.
In 2024, on average, tickets traded within 6% of their original face-value, with some slightly cheaper, and some slightly above.
This increase demonstrates the desire for dynamic waitlists in place of static waitlists on other platforms. Static waitlists lead to disappointment for fans and create more work for organisers to manage.
A dedicated commitment to ensuring no fan is left behind helped us maintain one of the highest ratings in ticketing on Trustpilot, a renowned, independent online review community of consumers.
Give your fans a safe and fair ticket resale and waitlist option. Gain total visibility and control to unlock new revenue streams, fan data and insights, earlier ticket sales, and more.
