Our partners across Australia and New Zealand used Tixel to protect their fans from touts and scammers while unlocking new revenue, data, insights, and more. Here's a recap of our year, from the latest trends on our platform, to our partners and fans.
A huge thanks to the promoters, festivals, artists, venues, and fans who trusted us with their tickets in 2024 - our most impactful year yet at Tixel alongside 750+ incredible partnered events in Australia alone. As we dive into 2025, here are some highlights…
Aussie festivals appear to still be in a regenerative phase (as covered in our 2024 Ticketing State of Play Report)Â - some had standout years, some paused, and others are finding their footing again.
In last year’s Ticketing State of Play report, we saw 75% of fans saying they purchase primary tickets earlier and in larger quantities when resale is simple and accessible. By offering more flexible options, we saw fans committing sooner. When they couldn't make it, they turned to Tixel to pass their tickets to fans that could, and on average, tickets were listed within 9% of their original face value.
Touring was huge, with Aussie acts like Dom Dolla and The Amity Afflication selling out arenas, and Royal Otis gaining momentum, there was a strong collaborative push to elevate homegrown talent. International acts filled stadiums too, and our data (including our hottest 100 Aussie events) showed that Pop dominated and electronic music also sold exceptionally well. We’re proud to have driven nearly $3M in incremental revenue for partners at a time when every ticket counts.
Behind the scenes, our team and tech worked to protect fans, reduce no-shows, and drive real value.
We’re grateful for a massive 2024. There’s so much to be done in 2025 to bolster our live music and entertainment ecosystem and we can’t wait to do it alongside you. See you in the crowd!
Here are just a few of our new partners
“Tixel has been a game-changer for our festivals for years—protecting fans, reducing fraud, and giving us valuable data. As our touring arm grows, we’re seeing those same benefits scale with us, from improving fan experience to using waitlist data to grow our events. It’s been invaluable having a resale and waitlist solution that evolves with us.”
"Tixel gives us a trusted place to send our fans, knowing they’re protected from scams and unfair prices. At the same time, our artists like Vance Joy, The Grogans, Amity Affliction (and more!), get real insights into demand and the ability to grow and connect with their fanbase. It’s made resale and waitlists a key part of our strategy."
‍
"Tixel gives our audiences a safe, fair, and easy way to resell tickets. Not having to deal with last-minute ticket issues is a huge time saver for our team, and a smoother entry process means less stress for us and more time to focus on delivering an amazing experience for everyone."
‍
The desire for flexibility and spontaneity remained strong last year with people listing tickets as their plans changed, and others buying closer to the event date or snapping up a coveted sold out ticket via a Tixel waitlist. Several partners experienced dramatic increases in check-in rates at events when partnering with Tixel.
Our proprietary tools enabled our partners to secure a meaningful amount of additional revenue from extra and unused tickets in the event of release holds, payment plan defaults, capacity increases and more. Partners could instantly fulfill these tickets to fans on their waitlist who had set up auto-purchase.
In 2024, on average, tickets traded within 9% of their original face-value, with some slightly cheaper, and some slightly above.
As fans in the UK become more aware of Tixel, we are helping centralise resale in a safe and fair environment and empowering our partners to capture more fan data to understand who attends their events.
We shipped dozens of new features and improvements throughout the year in response to the market, the challenges faced by our partners, how fans were using us and general consumer behaviour — here are a few of the ones that drove the most impact.
Dynamic Seat Maps: Fans can see, filter, and select tickets by where they want to sit for the show.
Instant Sales: Sellers can instantly sell tickets to fans that have pre-authorised a purchase.
Waitlist Cashout: Instantly fulfill unused tickets to fans on the waitlist who have set up auto-purchase.
Expanded transaction data: We expanded the resale transaction data available for viewing and exporting.
Tixel's waitlist gives fans the opportunity to auto-purchase the next available tickets at their desired price. Fans did this to the tune of over $47M — showing that there's a lot of cash sitting on the table for high-demand events, in particular.
This increase demonstrates the desire for dynamic waitlists in place of static ones on other platforms. Static waitlists lead to disappointment for fans and create more work for organisers to manage. On Tixel, fans on the waitlist can automatically purchase tickets as soon as a seller lists them.
$5M ON THE WAITLIST
Amount of money fans put down on the Tixel waitlist six months ahead of a major artist's tour, enabling them to confidently increase and fill capacity on all tour dates.
200,000 NEW FANS FOR MARKETING
Total number of new fans available for re-targeting campaigns, with 60,000 fans opted-in on Tixel and available to add to the artists's email and SMS lists.
A dedicated commitment to ensuring no fan is left behind helped us maintain one of the highest ratings in ticketing on Trustpilot, a renowned, independent online review community of consumers.
